Spotify local file downloads but then disappears

The album cover I added is not visible. How can I fix this? Go to Solution. There're different programs that can add covers to metadata, but we're unable to recommend any third-party software ourselves. I got it to work by adding the cover artwork in itunes first and then transfering songs into spotify through local files and then downloading the songs offline.

You have to wait a few minutes for it to work. Hope this helped. View solution in original post. I was able to accomplish this by adding the album art in iTunes first which simply allows you to select the audio track s and drag a jpeg to the album art section to apply it. I did resize the jpeg to x pixels before doing that. The image is instantly applied to the tracks in iTunes.

Then you simply have to import the audio tracks from iTunes to Spotify, which I was able to do simply by dragging the tracks from my iTunes playlist to a Spotify playlist.

The itunes thing works, but only for desktop. Elena Moderator. Help others find this answer and click " Accept as Solution ". Reply 0 Likes. Hey there kingslayerm! Welcome to the Community and thanks for the question. Keep us in the loop and have a lovely day! Reply 1 Like.

Hi Elena, I've been a spotify premium member for years and been having many issues with this service lately to the point I am really considering cancelling it and going with a different streaming company.

Hi chloeacn, Wasn't planning on keeping the solution private! Don't lose your sanity just yet! Try undowloading and downloading again. If you are using your phone to download local files, you have to download on your computer or laptop first and then download on your phone over the same wifi.

Casual Listener. Hope that helps. Hello to all, I just got here now, and my problem is very similar to all said in this topic, but I have one more strange detail, the local files that decided to stop working are not shown in my computer, only in my android system, this just bothers me a lot, sorry for bad English, not a common language for me.

Have you tried any of the solutions in this thread? Post Reply. Let's introduce ourselves! Last update: Log In.

I have had local files displayed in my spotify library with no problems for some time, but recently, I have noticed them disappearing little by little from my "local files" list and going grayed out on playlists.

Moving the files out of their folders and then back will bring them back, but only until I make any other changes to my local files, and then the songs will disappear again.

Might be worth noting that I have these files also downloaded to my phone and they play from my playlists with no trouble! This is only happening on my Windows 10 laptop. I even added the directory of the album I want to sync itself to the Local Files menu, and it's still not showing up.

My Local Files are only displaying a couple of albums from my "Music" directory, the rest have pretty much disappeared, even the ones downloaded from the same sources i.

This is a very recent problem, as last week everything was working fine and I still had my Local Files playlists intact and working both on PC and phone. Sorry to hear the app is causing you trouble with your local files. No worries, we're here to help! A clean reinstall is always a good choice to start with. Just a heads-up, this will remove all your downloads and you'll have to download everything again for offline listening. If this doesn't already do the trick, we recommend deleting your local files cache following the steps in this thread and then move the songs you want to be imported to a different folder on your computer and add that folder as a source for your local files in the app settings, as described here.

Note, that if the local files that don't show up in the desktop app have special characters in their name, it's likely to be related to this ongoing issue - in which case we suggest subscribing to that thread so that you'll be notified as soon as it gets resolved. Thanks for your support. This issue is pretty recent.
