Thanks for the reply. When I select play game, it says starting and shows "running" next to the game title, and then it goes back to steam library. I have shadowplay disabled. Im running gtx ti with latest driver released today. I tried running it with the last driver yesterday with the same result.

EDIT: Actually, after originally sending this message, I decided to run the file integrity checker in Steam, and what do you know, one file in Fallout 4 failed the integrity check, and had to be "reacquired". I didn't notice any of those issues when I tested this method and the issue with copying files is not directly related to Fallout 4, more to do with your OS.
My recommendation is to use a program called "TeraCopy" which will override the Windows copy protocol. Please can someone help me with this?
