It will make a great ice breaker to have all of your guests get to know one another. Having each table at the bridal shower break into their own team would be a great idea. You could even encourage them to make their own team names!
If you are playing scattergories in groups, I would highly recommend setting the timer for a little bit longer than if each person was playing individually.
This way, each person on the team can have a say in their answer suggestion, without things being too rushed. After the time is up, one member from each team will read out their group answer for each of the categories. If there is another team that has the same answer as them, both of the teams must cross that category item off of their list.

And so these are my rules! Print out a category card and answer card for yourself. But it would still be a lot of fun challenging yourself to come up with as many answers as possible before time runs out!
Playing scattergories with 2 players is actually exactly the same as playing with a large group. Each player will receive one cattergories card and one answer sheet. They will then each have to fill in the blanks and come up with as many answers that begin with the chosen letter as possible. When time runs out, the players will compare answers.
